Renewable resources like sunlight, water, and air have been on the rise. The depletion of natural non-renewable resources has accelerated in the past few years. The extensive use of coal, natural gas, and other minerals has led to this situation. The primary source of energy for all living organisms is the sun. So why not use its energy and convert it into something useful? There are millions of people using sun rays in the form of heat energy. The solar water heater system converts the sun’s energy into heat energy.
These hot water systems have been in use for quite some time now. This helps you in saving the cost of excess electricity. You can use this hot water system in your home or industrial areas. Read on to know more about them.
Solar Water Heater System- Know How It Works
Well simply put, the water heater system converts sunlight into heat energy. But the mechanism behind it is relatively complex. Two types of collectors in a solar water heater are evacuated tubes and flat plate collectors. The flat plate collector is more suitable when you have to mount the tank on the roof. This collector has copper pipes underneath a glass pane collector connected to a water storage tank mounted on the roof. The copper pipes heat from the sun rays resulting in hot water from the pipes. The evacuated tube collector is an advanced and better collector than its counterpart.
Know A Little More
The evacuated collector consists of two glass tubes. These glass tubes are fused from the top and bottom which creates a vacuum in the middle. A copper pipe runs through this chamber connecting to a manifold. Attached to a circulation pump that deposits water to the storage tank. The water tank is insulated so as to keep the water hot for a longer period. The evacuation collector manages to extract heat on a humid day.
You need not depend only on bright sunshine for it to work. The vacuum inside the glass chambers offers optimum heating. In terms of durability and cost the evacuated collector is cheaper than the flat plate. The hot water tank stores the heat from the roof.
This heat is collected after generated from the collector. This tank is basically a hot water reserve that you can use at night. The heated water rises to be pumped into the house. The temperature of this water rises above 60 degrees. A tempering valve reduces the temperature to 45 degrees before it reaches your taps.
Solar Water Heater System – The Efficiency
The water heater system is extremely efficient and well-balanced. It is best for households since hot water is required every now and then. Installing a heater system will greatly reduce your electricity bills. In case of damages, it is also cheap to repair.
